I thought it was really interesting that our librarian grew up in France and all those places in Europe because of her dad. It really seems that she it is in her best interest to help out as many students as possible at this school. I felt really comfortable when she added that she was especially excited to help out the freshman. It was really cool being introduced to the librarian and seeing how enthusiastic she was about working for the UC Santa Barbara library. I was expecting for her to talk more about the new library being built but that’s okay. I still had a good time learning the librarian’s background. She emphasized that the Library is going to become our favorite building during finals week. It was cool how she also gives out free snacks during that time because she cares about our health.
Also I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation the woman who worked at the Career Counseling Center did for us when we went. I also started reading the UCSB Career Manual and I find it really resourceful. There are pages that help you figure out how to write a proper resume with a cover letter. I think those are going to be really resourceful for me because I want to be able to get a job once the Fall quarter starts. I think the Counseling Center is a really good place for me to go to especially because I am an Undeclared major. I was looking through the bookshelves and they had books on different majors that I was interested in like Communications and Economics. So it would be very beneficial for me to do some more research on these majors so that I make the right decision.
Hey Martin,
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you're thinking about majoring in communication and Economics. Im going into Economics and Mathematics, we should defiantly hang out some time. I think your comment about how enthusiastic she was to work at UCSB, was something that slipped my mind and a really good catch by you. Anyways great post man!!
